WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott, on the Senate floor, called for the passage of his bipartisan, bicameral Sunshine Protection Act to finally ‘lock the clock’ by making Daylight Saving Time permanent year-round.  As Governor of Florida, Senator Scott signed legislation that would allow the state to remain on Daylight Saving Time year-round, pending federal approval, and has pushed the Sunshine Protection Act to make Daylight Saving Time the nationwide standard while giving states the right to opt-out. Senator Scott’s bill is sponsored by 18 of his Senate colleagues.
