Sen. Rick Scott: PPI Inflation Fueled by Bidenomics Keeps Hurting Florida Families

March 14, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott released the below statement following the latest Producer Price Index (PPI) release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Senator Rick Scott released the below statement highlighting the need to implement substantive fiscal reforms to end the ongoing inflation crisis fueled by the Biden administration’s reckless tax-and-spend agenda. February’s PPI data shows that there has been a significant rise in inflation during Biden’s presidency. Since Biden took office, PPI is up 18.4%.

Senator Rick Scott said, “The federal government needs a major course correction, not more of the failed Bidenomics agenda that’s been fueling inflation for three years. That seems to be clear to everyone except President Biden who this week proposed an absurd $7.3 trillion budget. Biden’s budget isn’t balanced and adds $6.4 trillion to debt over the next four years. That means it will only create more inflation and suffering for Florida families. I won’t stop fighting to end this inflation nightmare. It’s time to show Biden that his budget is dead on arrival in Congress and demand a return to fiscal sanity in Washington."

According to today’s PPI release, price increases over the year in February included:

  • Eggs: +33.4%
  • Beef: +14.6%
  • Chicken: +8.8%
  • Pork: +8.3%
  • Coffee: +6.1%
