WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott joined several members of the Senate Armed Services Committee in a press conference condemning President Biden’s failed withdrawal in Afghanistan following a committee meeting with military leaders.
Senator Rick Scott said, “President Biden and his administration failed in Afghanistan. The President’s misguided decisions and flawed leadership caused the loss of 13 American service members, and left American citizens, our allies, and billions of dollars of equipment behind enemy lines in the hands of a terrorist organization. His failures have damaged America’s reputation, undermined our national security and made the world a more dangerous place. That’s unacceptable to me, to American families, and to our allies across the world. We can all agree that the United States should not engage in forever war or nation-building, but this complete catastrophe deserves a bicameral, bipartisan investigation from Congress. It’s time Senator Schumer and Speaker Pelosi do their jobs, heed my call for an investigation and hold President Biden accountable for the chaos he caused.”
