WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott introduced and asked for passage of his resolution condemning the continued attacks by Hamas terrorists on Israel and reaffirming the United States’ unwavering commitment to our ally on the Senate floor. Senator Scott’s resolution was co-sponsored by 30 of his colleagues including Senators John Kennedy, Thom Tillis, Mike Braun, John Boozman, John Hoeven, Tom Cotton, Joni Ernst, Shelley Moore Capito, Ted Cruz, Todd Young, Cynthia Lummis, Marsha Blackburn, John Barrasso, Josh Hawley, Tommy Tuberville, Marco Rubio, Kevin Cramer, Ron Johnson, Bill Hagerty, John Thune, Jerry Moran, Cindy Hyde-Smith, Chuck Grassley, Roger Marshall, James Lankford, Mike Crapo, Tim Scott, Jim Inhofe, Dan Sullivan and Steve Daines. Senator Bernie Sanders blocked its passage on the Senate floor.
Senator Rick Scott said, “I’m disgusted to see the anti-Israel agenda being pushed by the radical Left and perpetuated by Bernie Sanders today as he blocked my resolution to stand with Israel. Israel is a country surrounded by nations and terrorist groups that want it wiped off the face of the Earth. Israel is under attack, yet the Democrats refuse to stand with our ally and are responsible for the anti-Israel rhetoric permeating the halls of Congress. Today, Democrats chose to defend Hamas terrorists, push for the stop of arms sales to our ally and promote anti-Israel rhetoric that’s fueling the fire for hate. We must never accept a weakened position on Israel, and the Democrats should be ashamed of this action today.”
