WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott made the following statement regarding congressional delegation traveling abroad (CODEL) during the ongoing government shutdown.
“The President was right to cancel Nancy Pelosi’s trip abroad while the Democrats refuse to come to an agreement on how to open government and fund border security. Congress’ number one priority should be figuring out how to get a deal done for the American people, and until they do, all CODELs should be cancelled. Just like you would do in business, Congress needs to stay in Washington until the job is done. Anything less is unacceptable.”
